Financials open higher with SEC, executive pay in focus

BOSTON (MarketWatch) -- Regional banking stocks recovered somewhat in early trading Wednesday after the previous session's drubbing but the spotlight was in Washington with Congress holding hearings on the alleged Ponzi scheme orchestrated by money manager Bernard Madoff.
