The LA Inception Orchestra Offers a Day of Free Virtual Music Composition Masterclasses and Presentations

LOS ANGELES, CA, October 28, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The LA Inception Orchestra, a nonprofit mentorship program for young composers, will present a day of masterclasses and presentations centered around music composition, featuring leading musicians mentoring from across the US and globally teaching the Inception cohort of composers (ages 11-18). This event is free.

Featured mentors include Karen Elaine (viola), Javier Oviedo and Jean-Pierre Schmitt (Classical Saxophone Project, New York), Ric Becker (trombone, New York), Aeralie Brighton (vocals, Boise, ID), Preston Scales (vocals), Maksim Velichkin (cello), Kelsey Smith (Young Musicians Foundation, Los Angeles), and Van-Anh Nguyen (piano, Sydney, Australia).

Inception recently partnered with the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers (ASMAC). Four-time Grammy® and three-time Emmy® winning producer, contractor and singer Laura Dickinson will highlight the ASMAC panel. It will be moderated by Dr. Gigi Johnson of the Maremel Institute and host of the Creative Innovators Podcast.

The other masterclasses and presentations will be moderated by the Inception Leadership team of Akira Nakano, Jack Aron, Kate Bacich, Amy (Aizhou) Liu and Blythe Schulte.

A segment on virtual reality will include presenters Shirly Gurten and Aletta Steynberg (Virtuo Studios, Boston) discussing their VRSO music game and Adrian Zaw (Zaw Studios) highlighting their work partnering with nonprofit organizations.

The evening will feature a virtual concert of our composers' and mentors original compositions.

The Los Angeles Inception Orchestra is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization mentoring young under-represented composers in music composition, orchestration and theory. The music education platform has gone national via the virtual platform.
