The Safest Photo Studio in NYC

How one photo studio is helping protect its clients and keep people working.

NEW YORK, NY, July 23, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Business was booming prior to March 13, like so many other businesses, and then Covid-19 hit. Everything was shut down for over 4 months, but that didn't deter Michael Dean, the owner and lead photographer at Studio69NYC.

Just over a year ago, Michael Dean decided it was time to help change an industry by creating a studio focused on people, and not just money. Having worked in the fashion industry for over 30 years and having been taken advantage of by one photographer after the next, and one agency after the next, Michael decided to build a studio that would allow models to get professional images at a reasonable price, as well as to help cast them for gigs to help them build their careers.

Leading up to early March, Michael was casting for show after show, shooting 5 days a week, and even walking himself in NYFW for multiple designers. Shooting everyone from models to people just wanting images for dating profiles, to designer lookbooks, it was a wonderfully busy time.

When the time came to reopen the studio Michael had to think very seriously about how to continue working but keep things safe for everyone. A plan was forged, and everything was ordered, and now the studio is back up and running...at half steam, to keep things safe.

"We implemented multiple measures to help protect everyone who comes to our studio. Health screenings are performed outside the studio prior to anyone coming in. The entire studio is wiped down between shoots and UVC Sanitization lights were installed to run between every shoot, HEPA air filters are run 24/7, masks are worn by Michael and his assistants during shoots and social distancing is maintained as well, and we shoot a lot outdoors when possible. Contact tracing for everyone coming to the studio is performed so if we ever have a risk, we can quickly inform anyone who could potentially be at risk." Michael Dean

When it comes to castings, Michael Dean is still busy with that too, but safely. "We are limiting in-person castings with our commercial and retail clients so that models don't have to be traveling across the city all the time. The times have changed, and we are all adjusting. Clients still need content for their websites and social, and we are helping them build that. Everyone had the downtime, and many businesses weren't ready for their full online presence, so that's where we can help them."

The studio also recently installed new technology to help companies build their content for the web. With 360 degree rotating platforms to capture video and images, it's faster than ever to get your content. The feedback from clients is that video is key now since in-person shopping is very limited and consumers want to see videos of product.

One designer recently said "One advantage Studio69NYC actually has in its favor is its size. It's small enough to produce the quality needed for everyone, from models to commercial clients needing 100 looks. And with the safety measures in place, Studio69NYC is clearly poised to be busy filling the gaps in the marketplace today, in the safest way possible."

Michael Dean has worked in fashion and media for over 30 years. Having shot landscapes and architecture and after spending a long time in front of the camera as a model, he decided it was time to get behind the lens himself to photograph people and so he opened Studio69NYC

Michael's vision of people has been called "transformative" and "life-changing" by many of his clients. When he creates images of people, they see themselves in a whole new light.

One client recently said, "I've never felt beautiful before, and now I see what others see in me."

"I was touched by the beauty of your artistic talent coming across many of my photos.  ... I must have these photos I'm requesting as they are some of the most beautiful photos of me I have ever seen.  I cannot thank you enough for sharing your gift with me." Chris
