With about four months to go before NFL team training camps begin, athletic-trainers and physicians review the best treatment options for the healing players that will suffer acute and chronic injuries during camp and over the regular season.
At a roundtable held at the recent NFL Combine meetings, NFL medical staff unanimously testified that sustained acoustic medicine (sam®), which players wear and it sends low-intensity ultrasonic waves to injured areas for multiple hours a day, has been the only treatment they have used that can heal a range of injuries, completely restoring and strengthening damaged tissue, often in a matter of weeks.
