Half-Price Cocktails All Day for Ladies on Galentine's Day on February 13 at Chef Point Bar and Restaurant

Watauga and Colleyville Restaurant Pays Homage to Parks and Recreation Character Leslie Knope's Favorite Holiday

FORT WORTH, TX, February 06, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On February 14, 2010, the TV sitcom Parks and Recreation released an episode called "Galentine's Day." In this episode, the effervescent and earnest lead character Leslie Knope explained her favorite made-up holiday: "Every February 13, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies."

Sometimes a fictional holiday is such a good idea that it catches on in the real world. Such is the case with Galentine's Day at both of Chef Point Bar and Restaurant locations in Watauga and Colleyville, Texas.

"We're huge Parks and Recreation fans, and we think all Galentine's Day needs to catch on in an even bigger way is a half-price cocktails and $5 off bottles of wine for the ladies," said Paula Merrell Nwaeze, owner of Chef Point.

The discount is for ladies only and will be offered on February 13 from open to close. Reserve a table for Galentine's Day.

Since the episode aired a decade ago, Galentine's Day has expanded into the broader popular culture. For those new to the holiday, Galentine's Day celebrations typically involve getting together with friends to exchange small gifts and eat brunch, especially waffles, a favorite of Knope's character on Parks and Recreation. Chef Point's menu includes Chef Franson's famous Chicken and Waffles, an ideal way to celebrate lady friends on Galentine's Day.
