Permian "Graboid" Fossil Discovered

By: PRLog

SEDONA, Ariz. - Jan. 3, 2020 - PRLog -- PermianMuseum.com announced today it is adding a new fossil that resembles the famed Graboid featured in the movie "Tremors".

"We now have a fairly intact specimen of the enigmatic life form that inhabited the worm burrows found under coastal egg nests around 250 million years ago.  The worm has an uncanny resemblance to the Hollywood creation, with the notable exception it is much smaller and ate eggs instead of people"  according to Mark Zamoyski, the Curator of the free on-line museum.

The "Permian Graboid" joins a growing collection of life forms spawned during the Permian period, which experienced 4 extinction pulses, each followed by a quantum speciation or recovery pulse that repopulated the earth with a new cast of characters.  The last quantum speciation pulse gave rise to the age of the dinosaurs.

Mr. Zamoyski went on to say:  "We now understand the grab bag DNA reassortment process that drove both the Cambrian and Permian explosions of life on earth.  The Output Specimens section of the free website is a testament to the enormous power of this process in generating new life forms, some of which clearly went on to become the dinosaurs, and most of which never made it into earth's playbook of life".
