Overall spending in the U.S. pet industry is increasing at about 4% a year, up from $66.75 billion in 2016 to nearly $70 billion today. As costs continue to rise, it is likely that 1 in 3 of these pets will need urgent veterinary treatment at some point, a heavy burden that most Americans can't afford.
