SmartCard Marketing Systems Inc. (SMKG.PK) (QYH.F), a leading provider of prepaid cards, smart stored value cards and payment transaction management services, announced today that it has signed a supply contract with a major electronic equipment manufacturer to sell its prepaid network branded debit cards in connection with the client’s newest product, a stand-alone card loading station. The company estimates that the initial contract will be worth $50,000 - $75,000 in revenue within the first 12 months after product release, which is expected in the 3rd quarter of this year this does not include revenues from transactions earned thereafter.
The Station is a self-serve way for merchants to allow cardholders to add value to their stored value card. The unit has a bill acceptor that allows a cardholder to load their card without going through a clerk, improving security and reducing employee theft and fraud. A merchant can also use the Station to distribute loyalty rewards and premiums to cardholders.
SmartCard President Bruce Baillio stated, “This technology creates an excellent platform for loading value onto prepaid cards that eliminates many of the potential theft and fraud problems that come from handling cash.
