Item 8.01 Other Events

    On Thursday, May 17, 2007, Sierra Health Services, Inc., or Sierra, issued a press release announcing that members of senior management are scheduled to present at the Citigroup 2007 Healthcare Conference in New York, NY on Tuesday, May 22, 2007. Sierra's presentation is scheduled to begin at approximately 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.  A copy of our PowerPoint presentation is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1. Investors, analysts and the general public are invited to listen to the live audio webcast of the presentation over the Internet by visiting the investors' page of our website at www.sierrahealth.com.
 
    Anyone listening to Sierra management presentations will be presumed to have read Sierra’s Annual Report on Form 10-K and 10-K/A for the year ended December 31, 2006 and Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the period ended March 31, 2007.
