AMR PRESENTING AT INVESTOR CONFERENCE

James Beer, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
of AMR Corporation, will speak at the 19th annual Smith Barney
Citigroup Transportation Conference on Tuesday, November 9, 2004
at approximately 2:15 pm ET.  Mr. Beer's presentation will
focus on the company's recent performance and the outlook for
the future.

A webcast of Mr. Beer's remarks will be made available via the
investor relations section of the American Airlines website at
www.aa.com.  Additionally, a replay of the speech will remain
available for at least 7 days following the event.
