(b) On December 27, 2016, FBL Financial Group, Inc. (the "Company") received notice from one of its directors, Jerry L. Chicoine, that Mr. Chicoine does not intend to stand for re-election at the Company's next annual meeting of shareholders. Mr. Chicoine has served as a Class A director of the Company since its initial public offering in 1996. He currently serves as a member of the Audit Committee and Management Development and Compensation Committee, and chairs the Class A Nominating and Governance Committee.
